Holly Moeller studies organisms with acquire metabolisms — the ability to produce and obtain energy in ways that aren’t hard-wired into their own DNA — and how these abilities affect species interactions and evolution as well as community structure and function. She employs mathematical, experimental and observational approaches in her work.
