Teaching professor Tim Dewar earned his Ph.D. in education, language, literacy, and composition from the Gevirtz School in 2008. His scholarship focuses on English education, with interests in the teaching of writing, assessment, and how teachers address challenges in student work. Prior to working at UCSB, which began in 2010, he was an assistant professor at SUNY New Paltz and taught secondary English in California public and private schools.
