The main focus of Syee Weldeab's research is the understanding of the forcings and feedback mechanisms of hydroclimate and ocean circulation changes over centennial-to-orbital time scales. He uses marine sediments and cave deposits as climate archives and analyze stable isotopes and trace elements to reconstruct changes in climate and ocean circulation.
