Leila J. Rupp is an interdisciplinary scholar of sexualities and women’s movements and professor of Feminist Studies at UC Santa Barbara. She received her PhD from Bryn Mawr College in European and American history in 1976. Her books and articles cover a wide range of topics, from the U.S. women’s movement in the 1950s and the history of the transnational women’s movement to drag queens and a global history of love between women. She was editor of the Journal of Women’s History from 1996 to 2004 and, more recently, cohost of the podcast Queer America.
