Geography
David Siegel's research interests lie at the intersection of physical, biological and biogeochemical processes in the ocean. He investigates the how marine ecosystems function on local to global scales using the tools of an applied physicist. Siegel work as addressed problems ranging from ocean biogeochemical cycling, pelagic microbial diversity, kelp forest dynamics, coupling between the seafloor and water column, and nearshore fisheries management.
