Mathematician David Morrison has devoted much of his attention to the interaction between algebraic geometry and string theory. He's become an expert on shapes with a trivial canonical bundle, which emerged as an important aspect of superstring theories. Morrison has also delved into mirror symmetry, and now holds a joint appointment to the mathematics and physics departments.
