Sonia Fernandez

Sonia came to science writing after working many years as a journalist. A graduate of UC Santa Barbara with a degree in English, she’s thrilled to be writing for her alma mater and working with the many excellent scientists, engineers, researchers, educators and students on campus. When not writing about great research, she’s probably playing music with friends, studying for her advanced degree, working in the community garden near Harder Stadium, distracting herself with video games, or trying to get some sleep.
