From Rio to Rec Cen

Fresh from an Olympic victory in Rio, women's water polo player and homegrown Santa Barbara athlete Kylie Neushul took the time to speak to the third graders of the A-OK after-school swim program at UC Santa Barbara Thursday, September 1. “I was just like you,” the gold medalist and Dos Pueblos High School alumna told the beginner swimmers of her first years of training at UCSB’s swimming pools. The short and sweet talk was followed by a brief question-and-answer session with the schoolkids, who had just completed their swim and water safety program, and an opportunity to check out the medal given to the world’s best athletes.
