Join Process Paradise 2025: Oct. 28 - 30

We are pleased to announce UCSB’s second annual process improvement professional development event, Process Paradise. This year, Process Paradise has expanded to 3 days – two days of inspiring drop-in virtual sessions to bookend an engaging, in-person event. Process Paradise is free and open to the campus community (faculty, staff and students). Join a single session, or all of them, for professional development, community and engagement.

  • Skill-Building Workshops: From Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement fundamentals to specialized topics, there's something for everyone.
  • Process Improvement Challenge: Watch as teams work together to analyze and improve a campus process in real-time.
  • Project Expo: Learn about Green Belt project successes and outcomes.
  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with peers, share experiences, and build community among process improvement enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

Virtual Sessions

We have brought together content from campus practitioners, Lean Six Sigma thought leaders (Tracy O’Rourke), Lean in Higher Education leaders (Stephen Yorkstone), and our sister campuses (UC San Diego, UC San Diego Health, UC Office of the President) to provide amazing insights. Pick one session or pick several, and let’s inspire one another!

FAQs

Who should attend? The in-person event is open to the entire campus community (faculty, staff, and students) across all functional areas.  We invite current and aspiring process improvement practitioners, campus executives and decision-makers, and anyone interested in improving the processes we work with on campus. The virtual sessions are open to the broader community of process improvement practitioners.

Is there a registration deadline? Registration for the in-person event must be submitted through the UC Learning Center by Friday, October 24 at 5:00 p.m. Registration for the virtual sessions can take place anytime.

How much does Process Paradise cost? There is no cost to participate.

Does this event count as a professional development opportunity? Yes, this is an opportunity to learn and build new skills. By registering and attending the in-person event, you’ll get credit on your UC Learning Center transcript.
