Participate In CycleMAYnia

This is a month-long celebration of bicycling across Santa Barbara County. Throughout the month, you will have an opportunity to track your ride on SmartRide, and with each bike commute you track, you will increase your chance of winning prizes. UCSB will be competing with other large area employers to see how many bike commutes we can track.

You can create your teams within UCSB! Invite your friends or co-workers who love biking or want to try a new way to commute to campus, come up with a creative team name and get started. If you want to experience the everlasting fame and glory that comes with being the best biker in the office, sign up for CycleMAYnia today.

Please follow the steps below:

1. Set up an account on SmartRide - https://smartride.org/#/
2. Join a network: Go to Accounts > Networks > Join a Network > UCSB Staff & Faculty (OR UCSB - Students)
3. Create or join a UCSB team:
   1. Scroll down to Challenges > Gold Challenge > Leaderboards > Create or Join a Team
   2. Choose a clever team name! Be creative, but please add UCSB somewhere in the title to help us keep track of which teams are affiliated with UCSB. Students, staff, and faculty can all be on the same gold challenge team even if you’re in different networks
4. For the Platinum Challenge, there are no self-chosen teams, there will be two UCSB Platinum teams: "UCSB staff & faculty" and "UCSB Students," which are based on the networks.
5. Make sure you RSVP for these CycleMAYnia events! We’ll be having events for all of May.
