’Tis the season: Here comes Commencement

It’s that time again. The green is being prepped, caps and gowns are being collected and those end-of-year vibes are in the air.

It’s commencement season at UC Santa Barbara, where 6,761 students — a combination of undergraduate and graduate — are set to earn degrees in 2023. They’ll be honored with nine official events over eight days, between June 11 and June 18.

Kicking things off, the College of Creative Studies will host its Commencement Celebration at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 11, at Campbell Hall. Next up, at 9 a.m. Friday, June 16, Bren School of Environmental Science & Management will hold its annual Commencement Celebration outdoors in the Bren Hall Michael J. Connell Memorial Courtyard.

The remaining seven ceremonies, organized by college, level of degree and field of study, will be held on Commencement Green, near the campus lagoon:

Graduate Division — Friday, June 16, from 1–3 p.m.

College of Letters & Science, Division of Math, Life and Physical Sciences I — Saturday, June 17, from 9–11 a.m.

College of Letters & Science, Division of Math, Life and Physical Sciences II — Saturday, June 17, from 1–3 p.m.

College of Engineering — Saturday, June 17, from 4–5:15 p.m.

College of Letters & Science, Division of Social Sciences I — Sunday, June 18, from 9–11 a.m.

College of Letters & Science, Division of Social Sciences II — Sunday, June 18, from 1–3 p.m.

College of Letters & Science, Division of Humanities and Fine Arts — Sunday, June 18, from 4–5:30 p.m.

All of the ceremonies and each of the celebrations will be webcast live; details and streaming links will be available in advance via the Commencement website.
