Creative Studies Top Honors

Two students receive top awards at the College of Creative Studies Commencement ceremony

Two physics students received the top academic awards from the College of Creative Studies (CCS) for 2014-15. The awards were presented during the CCS Commencement ceremony  on Sunday, June 7, in Campbell Hall.

Phil Saad, who was awarded a bachelor of science degree in physics, received the CCS Faculty Executive Committee Commendation of Excellence Award. This award recognizes truly outstanding performance by a CCS student in his or her overall intellectual endeavors.

Boris Georgiev, who also earned a bachelor of science degree in physics, received the CCS Student Service Award. This award recognizes outstanding contributions by a graduating senior to the intellectual and social functions of CCS.

Student speakers for the CCS Commencement were Alexandra Phillips, who received a bachelor of arts degree in biology; Yin “Larry” Lin, bachelor of science degree in physics; and Victoria Wu, bachelor of arts in in biology.

A total of 83 CCS students were awarded degrees during the ceremony.
