Chancellor Henry T. Yang Statement on Senator Dianne Feinstein

My wife, Dilling, and I are deeply saddened by the passing of Senator Dianne Feinstein, a trailblazing leader for the state of California, and a trusted friend and stalwart champion of UC Santa Barbara. She advocated for the value of higher education in shaping students’ lives and for the importance of our nation’s research universities in initiating the technological advances that shape our world. We at UC Santa Barbara appreciate the decades of hard work she and her staff invested in our campus community. Her representation of UC Santa Barbara’s needs in Washington was invaluable, and she will greatly be missed by our campus and our community.
