Spring Career Fair a Big Hit
An estimated 120 companies come to UCSB to recruit Gauchos in the campus’s biggest-ever Career Fair
The Thunderdome was buzzing with activity on Tuesday, April 14, but there was no sign of any basketball or volleyball players.
More than 1,100 students turned out for UCSB’s biggest-ever Spring Career Fair, according to Ignacio Gallardo, director of UCSB Career Services. The fair, held in the Events Center for the first time, attracted almost 120 employers, who were on campus to recruit Gauchos for everything from internships to full-time positions.
“We were thrilled with the employer/student turnout and with the event in general,” Gallardo said.
Employers in attendance included 20th Century Fox, Apple, Yelp, Oracle, the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Marine Corps, among many others.
