Starting this Thursday, March 19, at 7 a.m., traffic control changes will begin as part of the second and final phase of the El Colegio Road Improvements Project in Isla Vista. The project is being administered by UC Santa Barbara.
The new shifts in traffic are part of the widening of El Colegio Road from Stadium Road to Camino Del Sur. The project is scheduled for completion in June.
The changes starting this Thursday include:

Outbound UCSB and Isla Vista traffic, headed toward Goleta,
will be shifted to the newly constructed portion of El Colegio Road, adjacent to the UCSB San Clemente graduate student housing complex.

Inbound El Colegio traffic to UCSB and Isla Vista will not be affected.
Stadium Road southbound will be reopened to inbound traffic to El Colegio Road via Mesa Road.

Access to and from El Colegio via Camino Pescadero, Embarcadero del Mar and Embarcadero del Norte will experience temporary detours over the next three months.
Motorists will be notified with advance detour signs. Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.

For the safety of bicyclists and pedestrians, right turns on red will be prohibited from Stadium Road onto El Colegio. This change will eliminate conflicts between vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists at the El Colegio and Stadium Road intersection.
