UCSB's Sedgwick Reserve in the Santa Ynez Valley is offering equestrians the opportunity to make guided natural history rides over parts of the former ranch's 6,000 acres in October and November of 2001 and April and May of 2002.
Applications from both groups and individual riders are being accepted.
A donation of $10 per person is requested. Groups should contact Jane Murray (805-684-4405, jane@murrays.com) of the Reserve's volunteer staff to arrange a time.
Individual riders may contact Murray to sign up for rides scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001 and Sunday, April 29, 2002.
Space is limited to the first 20 riders to sign up.
Sedgwick Reserve is part of the University of California Reserve System, established to preserve unique habitats throughout California and to provide resources for university teaching and research.
Sedgwick volunteers trained in the natural history of the preserve will accompany the riders pointing out plants, animals and points of interest.
